We had a great time talking to Tyler Lamon, a candidate for Metro Council District 15 about neighborhood issues and what they want to do as an elected official.
Tyler Lamon is a community organizer and martial arts instructor who is running to represent District 15 on the Louisville Metro Council. Tyler is a democratic socialist, running because the working class communities in our district and all across Louisville are not being represented in Metro Government.
Lamon has worked as a tutor, a fact checker, a gardener, a martial arts instructor, and a homemaker. He is fluent in Spanish and regularly helps people with translation needs. Tyler lives in the St. Joseph neighborhood of Louisville with his partner Katie, a public school teacher. Tyler is also an active organizer with the Louisville chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. He is running to help make Louisville a better place for working people, especially immigrants and the houseless, and to improve conditions for renters.
